Hello and looking forward to interacting with all in the class and enjoy time spent together.
Sorry I cut original comments.
A Mistake.
Art is for free expression of idears, thoughts and open talk.
Original comments were simplistly, thanks to Professor for finding us in closet, North 108.
CCCC was a little confused on HYBRED courses.
Noted that I am "older".
Love art and have done a little in past, but do to injury to hand, stopped.
Former engineer, close eyes, Nuclear Engineer.
Now sub at Barnstable school, got guts to try art again when in an art class, kids thought my rose was ok.
Art is so interesting. A couple of lines, can express soo much.
The hands in prayer is so classic a drawing.
So simple. so basic, and so hard to do.
Looking forward to our time together.
Professor seems grand.

Lesson 2 - Hands
By way, I utilized Picnik to enhance and down size a very large file to the size shown. I was able to lighten the background, sharpen up the detail and reduce the file size from 2000+X2000+ to this size about 300x300. The program is free, as professor said, easy to use, and you can save files within the progran and you can transmit files over email , even very large files. To copy and paste files, you have to down load file to your computer. It took me a moment to find the file in my computer, but as you see, Picnik works.

I enjoy drawing, and drawing with charcoal is fun. And the end results are quite interesting pictures, even a simple pile of white cubes, a piece of white pipe on a white table make for dramatic pictures. The rumpled up piece of paper on a white table and a white background, took a few hours to get the drawing to the point pictured below. The tree stump was very interesting to attempt. so many surfaces, textures, value changes and perspective issues.
I have enjoyed the class todate and am sorry it will soon be ending. The professor has been informative and laid back, letting each work on the assignments, but quietly talking to each a few times each class with helpful suggestion and support. Most of all I have enjoy seeing the works of art that each in the class have done.
