I didn't really enjoy drawing a still life of a few geometric shapes. I would've liked to draw a person, because it's more interesting. There isn't a message behind drawing shapes, and especially in charcoal. I enjoy drawing with charcoal, because it makes thick, definite lines. I feel like we should focus on drawing people, or living things, even a tree.
Well Andrew you missed last Class where we drew a nice Root! Copy one from the other students. Philippe
Hey, I'm really excited about this new project, when we draw on newspapers. I'm much more comfortable doodling on an existing piece of media, then starting fresh on a plain white surface. It should be easy to make some drawings on top of old pictures. I didn't realize that we didn't have class on Nov. 22, and I even showed up, so it should've been posted earlier. I can't wait to begin the new assignment!
Self Expression Drawing
Andrew can you explain what you draw:

In this image, I was expressing when technology and nature collide, figuring that the giant inflated apparatus was a comforting shadow above the city. While most of us accept technology as a means of comfort and convenience, we exist as animals and organic organisms. Technology is a means of survival, however we rely on it too much, blinding us from the universe around us. I enjoyed exaggerating shadows and luminous shapes because they can distort our perception of size, adding to the feeling of having a giant shape and the small city beneath it. I really like the last assignment!!
