hello--now that I have figured out how to write on this page I can give you some feed back.

I am glad I got to come in tonight to get caught up. Although I am not very good at drawing I am enjoying this class. I have found alot more interest in art then I had previously. I always enjoyed looking at art and wished that I could draw even a little bit. I am seriously considering taking another drawing class with you. I would like to be more comfortable and confident in my drawings.

hello

I just wanted to say I enjoyed playing with the drawing page that you had put on the web site. I felt like a kid again so care free with scribble. :) I also really enjoyed playing with the india ink. It made a real mess on my hands but it was very fun to experiment with all of the different textures.

Last nights class(11-15)was interesting. I didn't really like my drawing of the tree stump that I did. Mainly because it really does not look like a tree stump at all. I had a great time atempting to draw it. I thought the mixture of the brown from the paper, the black charcol and the white charcol really made the colors beautiful together.I am curious to see what it looks like on line and if I will like it more. Drawing is something I have always wanted to be able to do and I am realizing now that art it not perfect. Everything I do does not have to be what people expect. It is the originality in the work that makes it wonderful. I think that with experimenting and some practice I could really start to enjoy what I draw.

Okay--I think I do like this better as I look at it on line. I need to be a little less critical of myself I think.

Nov.17 I am glad that you changed your mind and that you started seeing the quality of your work,

I see this attitude all the time in students and I think it's quite normal to be self-critical...

Philippe

Can you try to explain why it is so?

+Seeing it from a different angle(not flat in front of me)makes a difference in the way I am viewing it. Also I think looking at it alone and not comparing it to the other work around me lets me appreciate what I have done. I am pretty impressed with myself now compared to the beginning of the semester.

hello I have to say that I am proud of the outcome of my version of Al Paccino. This is huge progress for me. I am starting to really enjoy this.

Dawn it looks like you are ready for a nice Winter!

Nice Drawing

Philippe

I would like to say that I really enjoyed this class the further along we got into the semester. I was really intimidated at first but began to feel more comfortable with the work I was doing as time went on. There was alot of positive reinforcement that also helped me along the way. I would get very critical of my drawings and there was always somebody to push me along. This was a very positive experience for me. I know that I have a long way to go before I am as good as I would like to be but with practice I think I can achieve this. I feel that having such a wonderful teacher had a lot to do with my success in this class. I came in not being able to draw anything and left with the knowledge to make something unique and beautiful. Thank you!
