I just wanted to start out by intro-ing myself. I'm a freshman majoring in Theater/Art and I'll be transferring next year to an art school. I love anything creative and I guess you could say that I'm a right brained person!! Oh yeah, I guess I didn't mention this yet, but I love anime/manga and plan on learning Japanese and studying abroad for my Junior year in Japan (the Mecca of all things anime). Anime is Japanese animation and if you don't know anything about it, google it...or wiki it...if you feel like it...it could change your life...I got into it in the 7th grade and I haven't been the same since. Anyway...I look forward to this class a great deal and I wish everyone the best of luck!! Sayonara!!

I really like how the class is going so far and I'm really glad that we are doing hand drawings first!! I'm not really good with the whole blogging thing...but I am having fun with the colors!!

I posted a picture of an anime drawing that I did fairly recently and if anyone wants to critique it...feel free. ::bear in mind that it is anime and not intended to be real life!!::

I've had so much fun in this class and created pieces that I never thought possible...It's sad to think that in a week it will all be over and I won't draw for three hours straight on Wed nights anymore. It was a pleasure taking a class with you all and I wish you all the best of luck in your chosen fields of study and in life. I liked watching everyone else bloom into artists too. I'll never forget that darker can make an image that much stronger...I'll never be afraid of a 4B pencil again...now if I could only master the 6B, I'd be all set. Value has been so important to me as a lesson I really needed to learn. You don't get much practice with value if you're constantly drawing cartoon characters. I'm certain that this class is what helped me get into Savannah College of Art and Design, and for that I thank everyone for urging me forward when I wanted to scrap some of my pieces. It's sad Orlando's eyes turned out the way they did!! Hahahahaha! I feel prepared to jump head first into the world of art and give it my all. Look for me on the walls of museums someday...or maybe in your friendly neighborhood comic book!

Much love, Deborah Lee Ambroseno
